Monet’s Garden

We arrived in Giverny in the morning after a light rain, the garden was lush and full of color. Monet was a serious collector of flowers from all over the world. His garden is a beautiful example of the flowers he could get a hold of at the time. The locals back then, were a bit concerned that he was bringing in too many exotics. I don’t really think he cared. Most everybody has seen Monet’s “Water Lilies” and standing at the waters edge by his pond, you can easily see his inspiration. I found my inspiration in his gardens surrounding the pond and his house. I probably took over a hundred close ups of the flowers there that day. Simple, beautiful, color, light and a few drops of rain.
