We came across this pride of lions in late morning. They were just catching some shade under the trees, trying to stay cool and get a nap in. Everybody asked if I was nervous about being close to these big kitties. First off, we were always in the jeep, second, the lions couldn’t care less that we were there. It was kind of amusing at first, they treated us just as an annoying presence, just like our cats do at home. When we showed up and approached the pride, one lion opened her eyes looked at us and rolled over to give “the back”. We stayed with them for about an half hour and enjoyed the young ones and the females napping, yawning and scanning the horizon. It was a nice visit,
