Ngorongoro Rim in early morning fog

Before we started our days exploring the Ngorongoro caldera floor, we had to descend through the early morning clouds and fog. I would often look through the fog to find silhouettes of elephants and giraffes moving through the acacia trees. On a few trips we saw groups of Maasai heading to their huts in the distance, walking always in a line. We couldn’t drive too quickly because of the wildlife and the road was quite rocky and bumpy. So every now and then the driver would come to a stop and I was able to get a few shots like these. After we got farther down into the caldera we would pass out of the clouds and you could see the herds grazing along the plain. It was always a beautiful sight!
