This is a view of the valley of Winter Park and the old train bridge at 10,000ft on the Continental Divide, in Colorado. We took snowmobiles up through deep packed powder on a beautiful gray winters afternoon. The area was getting several feet of snow a day and the roads were blocked multiple times over the week, due to small avalanches. This is an enchanting area in the winter whether you are skiing, snowmobiling or snowshoeing. You seem to be at the top of the world and there is no end to the mountains on the horizon.
This shot is a six shot panoramic taken on top of a snowmobiles hood. The two things I learned from shooting at high altitudes is that one, batteries do not last long in the cold and two, working your camera with snow gloves on is a bitch!
Very nice!
