In honor of Thanksgiving I present to you the “Jungle Turkey”, also known as the Crested Guan. Kath and I found this fellow on our hike through the forests of Corcovado National park in Costa Rica. There were two adults and three chicks running around on the branches, foraging for food. They let us get quite close and didn’t seem to concerned that we were there. After I got this shot and backed off, our guide informed us that this was also called the “Jungle Turkey” and they taste just like chicken. Happy Thanksgiving!
