I was on assignment for the Nature Conservancy, shooting in several different habitats and documenting the effects of fire in a piney flat woods. There were many locations and great light everywhere we went. I was on my way back to the cottage I was staying in, when this sunset began to burst into color. I could see through the woods that it was going to be a fire sunset and I needed to get to an open area as soon as possible. As luck would have it, I made it to a bridge over the river and was able to capture this beautiful, Florida, fire red sunset.
This shot is a panoramic and is comprised of three shots. Even though I was shooting with my 17mm lens, one shot could not do justice for capturing the scope of the landscape and sunset.
