Lost in Venice

One of my favorite things to do when I visit Venice, is to get lost. I love to wander down every small alley and passageway, to see what lies on the other side. Most often, I will find myself standing next to a small canal at the end of one of these paths, or I will just keep diving deeper into the city. The nice thing about doing this in Venice, is the island really isn’t that big, so you will always find your way back home. When I was shooting the image of the door right above the water, three ladies approached with big smiles. One woman spoke to me in what I believe was German, (several people on this trip thought I was German?). She saw I didn’t understand, then she looked at me and said, “she loved lost places.” So we shared this lost spot for a while, and then we both moved onto the next, “lost place.”
